Running assessments

Pickwick Physiotherapy is pleased to offer a comprehensive 1 hour physical evaluation for runners to identify weaknesses, imbalances, and inefficiencies in their movement and strength. Our aim is to help prevent and manage injury and improve your running performance.

What a running strength assessment involves:

  • Initial Consultation: Discussing your running goals, injury history, and general health and fitness.

  • Biomechanical Screening: Evaluating your body’s alignment, posture, and movement patterns.

  • Flexibility and Range of Motion Tests: Assessing the flexibility of key muscle groups and joints.

  • Strength and Endurance Testing: Measuring the strength and muscular capacity of major muscle groups.

  • Balance and Stability Tests: Evaluating your ability to maintain balance and control during movement.

  • Following the assessment a tailored strength and conditioning program will be provided with specific exercises and advice.
