Why did you become a Physio?
I have always loved learning about the human body which led to me completing a degree in Sport Science and Physiology initially. I realised, whilst on a placement that Physiotherapy was for me and have never looked back!
What do you enjoy treating?
I get excellent outcomes with back, hip and pelvic pain. My special interest is in pelvic health physiotherapy, I find looking at the whole person can really help bring great results. Everything’s connected in the body so I enjoy a challenge to unpick what is the primary cause of the problem. I also enjoy working with long distance walkers and runners and returning people back to sport.
What’s your favourite part of the job?
I have always loved movement (of any kind) so enabling my clients to move better to achieve their own personal goals brings me huge amount of satisfaction, be it gardening to running ultra marathons! I also love the social aspect of my job and find I am also always learning from meeting new people!
What’s the most adventurous thing you have ever done?
I love being in the outdoors and walking in the hills. I used to run a lot and completed several mountain marathons around the UK. One year I decided to set a challenge of a half marathon each calendar month. Fitting in 12 races was a great way to visit friends and family around the UK and I got to experience some really amazing routes along the way!
My other biggest achievement is having my two children!!
What’s your favourite Meal?
I love a Budda Bowl style meal. I also love my husband’s cooking, he has a hidden talent there!
